Ledgent Finance and Accounting has an immediate Payroll opening with a manufacturing partner of ours located in the Minneapolis area!

Key Responsibilities
- Process weekly, biweekly, or semi-monthly payroll accurately and on schedule.
- Review and audit payroll data, including hours worked, overtime, pay adjustments, bonuses, commissions, and deductions.
- Maintain employee payroll records and ensure data accuracy within the payroll system.
- Calculate and process garnishments, tax withholdings, benefit deductions, and other payroll-related adjustments.
- Reconcile payroll reports and assist with month-end and year-end accounting activities.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local wage and hour laws and payroll regulations.
- Prepare payroll tax filings and support year-end processes, including W-2s and other required reporting.
- Investigate and resolve payroll discrepancies and employee payroll inquiries in a timely manner.
- Partner with HR regarding employee onboarding, terminations, leave of absences, and changes affecting payroll.
- Maintain confidentiality of employee information and payroll records.
- Assist with payroll audits and process improvement initiatives.
Qualifications
- Payroll processing experience required.
- Experience with payroll systems such as ADP, Paychex, UKG, Workday, Ceridian Dayforce, or similar platforms.
- Knowledge of payroll regulations, tax laws, garnishments, and wage-and-hour compliance.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and payroll reporting.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Excellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet strict deadlines.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
